The Transplant Unit of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, in association with the Renal Dialysis Technology wing of Yenepoya Allied Health Sciences, observed "World Kidney Day" on March 10th, 2022 at Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte ,Mangalore.
A ceremony was held to celebrate the unselfish and brave acts of organ donors. On the same day, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Abhayam Trust in Kasargod to support and collaborate for the benefit of dialysis patients. Mr.Qayyoom and Dr. Prakash R M Saldanha, Medical Superintendent of YMCH together unveiled the "PUTHUJEEVANAM" initiative. The prominent guest for the day was Mr. M A Natraj, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Mangalore City. The guest of honor was Dr. M Vijayakumar, Vice-Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University. On this occasion, the Kidney donors for the patients, getting the transplant were felicitated. The prize was also given to students winning awards in a competition held to observe the day.
Mr.Yenepoya Mohammed Farhaad, the Honorable Pro-Chancellor, presided over the event. Other University authorities, Deans of constituent institutions, and Yenepoya University officers were present.
In addition to this, as a part of our larger efforts to reach our services to all the needy people, the hospital officials signed a memorandum of understanding to co-brand Yen- Arogya card with Madhyamam newspaper, in the northern districts of Kerala. It is a unified and unique card that provides various services like allopathic, oncology, Ayurveda, homeopathy, and naturopathy treatments in the Yenepoya group hospitals under Yenepoya(Deemed to be University).
