To celebrate the contributions and achievements of men and boys towards the nation, society and community at large, International Men's Day is observed every year on 19 November . The theme for International Men's Day 2021 "Better relation between men and women" focuses on improvement of bond and support between men and women.
On the occasion of this International Men's Day, Gender Sensitization Cell from Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Mangalore , have organized a Program for staffs and students on Nov 20th. On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed, Principal and Dean, Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre has given the welcome speech. Dr. Akther Hussain, Principal, Yenepoya Dental College, was chief guest for the day. He has given a s parkling talk on the theme and illustrated how men have the potential to become the global medium to heal our world. A fashion show competition was organized for the students and staffs, followed by the prize distribution. The program ended with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Sindhu Priya E S., chairperson of Gender Sensitization Cell, YPCRC.
The Yenepoya Foundation is also giving excellence awards for the meritorious children of the employees of Yenepoya group who have scored highest percentage in respective examinations.
Further scholarship to 278 students has been given amounting to Rs. 2,88,60,450/- for the year 2019-2020 by Yenepoya (Deemed to be University).
This Year Academic Excellence Award function was held virtually on Friday, the 9th July, 2021 at 10.00 a.m. Mr. N Shashi Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Mangalore, was the Chief Guest. He felt that the University is doing a great job by identifying meritorious students belonging to the weaker sections of the society and awarding them with scholarship. He also appreciated that in his administrative experience at D.K. district, he has not heard anything wrong about Yenepoya. He wished that Yenepoya will get Global recognition for the accomplishments.
Mr.Yenepoya Mohamed Kunhi, Chairman Yenepoya Group was the Guest of Honour and Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor, Yenepoya ( Deemed to be University ) presided over the function. Dr. M Vijayakumar, Vice Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) welcomed the gathering and Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Javeed, Director Yenepoya Group, proposed the vote of thanks.
