The Hospital day was started as a way to commemorate Yenepoya Medical College Hospital's 20 plus years journey. This idea was laid as a foundation stone to mark the auspicious day in the history of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital and continue the tradition of celebrating it in future. “Yen Utsav-2022” was symbolized as the event name for the hospital day celebration which was held on 10 th December 2022 at Yendurance Auditorium.
Various cultural and sports events were held in order to enhance group behaviour and morale of the employees. All employees actively participated and took part in all the events held.
Various sports events were also held separate for both male and female employees. Employees from various departments teamed up and showed their active participation.
Prize distribution ceremony was held on 9 th of December at 8 th floor EMD auditorium. All the winners of the cultural and sports events were felicitated by all the guest of honours. Winners were awarded with certificate, cash prize and mementoes. All the judges of the cultural events were recognised on the day of prize distribution by giving certificates and token of gratitude. All the referees and the umpires were awarded with the cash as a token of gratitude.
Prize amount was awarded to the winners of all the categories.
10 th Dec 2022 marked the conclusion of hospital day celebrations. The event began with the formal function Invoking blessings of almighty. The formal function was attended by revered dignitaries as follows.

Dr.Prakash R M Saldanha, Medical superintendent,YMCH delivered the welcome address of the ceremony, highlighting importance and briefing the concept of the hospital day. An elaborated presentation on Yenepoya Medical College Hospital ,summarising the milestones achieved by YMCH so far, the facilities and services that are catered and the visions for future was presented by Dr.Nagara jShet,Asst. MS,YMCH.
The presidential address was given by Dr. M. Vijayakumar,ViceChancellor,Yenepoya(Deemed to be University). “Festivals are celebrated getting together. I am glad to participate in it as the chief guest in their first celebration,” said district SP SonawaneRishikesh,chief guest of the ceremony. Dr Kishore Kumar N, District health officer said that hospital staff go through every hurdle to bring smiles on the faces of patients. “Supporting the staff through festivals is good,” he said.
Chairperson, Organizing Secretary, Sub-Committee members were felicitated with a token of gratitude. As part of the formal function, awards for best employees were given by the dignitaries
Dr.HabibRahman,Deputy MS,YMCH delivered the vote of thanks with which the formal function got concluded. Following the formal functions, various cultural art and dance forms were performed by hospital employees as well as Hejjenada dance and music team,Mangalore. The event came to an end with Dinner.
