Recent Advances in Medical Sciences International E-Conference RAMSIECON 2021 at Yenepoya (Deemed to be University)

Department of Physiology, Yenepoya Medical College, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore is hosting its maiden venture of International E-Conference, RAMSIECON 2021 from 30-06-2021 to 03-07-2021. The inauguration of the conference was held on 01-07-2021 between 10:15 am and 11:am online using Google meet and YouTube platforms. The theme of the Conference is Recent Advances in Medical Sciences. This conference has provided a platform for young researchers to explore and update themselves with the current developments in the field of medical sciences. Around two hundred and thirty eight delegates from all over India and abroad have participated in the conference.

The conference was inaugurated by Dr Ashwath Narayan C.N., Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Government of Karnataka. He applauded the efforts of the University for pioneering in promoting research and scientific innovations in the health sector and emphasized it as the need of the hour. Professor Dr. B. H. Sripathi Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) was the Guest of Honour at the inaugural program. Prof. Dr. M. Vijaya Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) presided over the inaugural function and delivered the presidential address. He congratulated the department for having initiated the conduct of the international virtual conference. He further opined that the onset of COVID has resulted in rapid evolution in the usage of online tools for the conduct and delivery of educational events and Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) stands at the pinnacle of promoting scientific research and innovations.

The Registrar of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr. K.S. Gangadhara Somayaji, and the Controller of Examinations, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Dr. Nandish B.T., were also present at the inaugural ceremony. The welcome talk was given by Dr. Padmini T, the organising chairperson of the conference. Dr. Grrishma B., the Organizing Secretary delivered the vote of thanks, and Dr. Shobith B, Joint Organizing Secretary read the message of Hon’ble Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi for the conference. The Deputy Director of Information and Communications department of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mr. Rajesh Karkera oversaw the seamless running of the entire virtual event.

The conference features national and international speakers and delegates. Over a hundred and forty researchers from around the world will participate in scientific deliberations. There will be awards for excellent oral and poster presentations for professors and post-graduate students from various health professional domains, as well as awards for young research scholars. Dr M. S. Moosabba, Principal of Yenepoya Medical College, and Dr K. Shankar Bhat, Retired Professor and Head, Department of Physiology, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore, will preside over the Valedictory programme on July 3rd.
