AYURGRAM AYURBHARAT -KURNADU

In a contest conducted by Aaptas Ayurveda called “Ayurgram”, the students of 2nd year BAMS, Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital,Naringana, Mangalore participated and conducted an Ayurveda awareness camp, in Kurnadu village, Mudipu in association with Kurnadu Gram Panchayat.

“Ayurgram” is a contest conducted to celebrate and create awareness about AcharyaCharaka and Ayurveda on behalf of CharakaJayanti. Ayurveda colleges all over India participated in this contest by adopting a village for 7 days and turning it into “Ayurgram” .The main goal of this contest is to “Reach Ayurveda to Each” . A team of 10 members conducted the camp for 7 days i.e. from 15/07/22 to 21/07/22. It included free health camps which were conducted in Primary Health Centre (Kurnadu) and KFC hall (Kurnadu Friends Circle). A total of 160 patients benefitted from this. Apart from that, daily yoga sessions were held and pathyaahara (healthy food items) was distributed to the villagers. They also arranged expert talks by doctors who specialised in ENT and eyes, streeroga, skin disorders and general health.

A session on mental health and stress management in Government First Grade College (GFGC), Kurnadu was given by expert.

Cultural activities, school activities and Ayurveda exhibitions in ShriBharathi Aided Higher Primary School and Dhatthatreya AHP School also took place. Programmes which included street play on basic principles of Ayurveda, skit on origin of Ayurveda, folk dance, patriotic song and flash mob were also organised . A total number of 550 people benefitted from the camp, which included school children and village people.
