
Department of Anaesthesiology, Critical Care and Pain Medicine in association with Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA) City Branch, Mangaluru organized a one day Hands on Workshop, “Yenepoya Regional Anaesthesia Workshop- YENRAW 2023”
The objective of this workshop was to discuss the recent advances in the field of regional anaesthesia and provide hands on training to all the regional anaesthesia enthusiasts from all over India, by learning scanning techniques of both basic and advanced peripheral nerve blocks by pioneers in regional anesthesia
The programme was attended by nearly 146 delegates consisting of both postgraduates and practicing consultants from various states like Karnataka, Delhi, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Goa.
Workshop was inaugurated by our Chief Guest Dr J Balavenkata Subramanian, Senior consultant & Academic Director, Ganga Hospital Coimbatore who addressed the gathering and emphasized on the importance of Regional Anaesthesia and the need of hands on workshops to train all young anaesthetists. Dr. M Vijayakumar, Honourable Vice Chancellor Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), the Guest of Honour, highlighted the importance of advance in medical education and research. Dr. Harish Hegde B, Professor and Head of the Department welcomed the gathering. Dr Habib Rehaman A.A delivered the presidential speech. Dr. Murali Thondebhavi, Dr Azam Danish, Dr Venkateswaran, Dr Rammurthy Kulkarni, Dr Thrishul M graced the occasion by their presence and were an intergral part of YENRAW 2023 by contributing as resource faculty. Dr. Shilpa Bhat, Asst. Prof., YMC & Treasurer, ISA Mangaluru city branch delivered the vote of thanks, Dr Mumtaz Ahamed was the treasurer of the event and Dr. Delma D’Cunha, Senior Resident, YMC, anchored the programme. This one day workshop comprised of extensive discussions on both basic and advanced regional blocks, followed by hands on workshop by scanning on volunteers conducted by our eminent resource faculty with expertise in Regional Anaesthesia. The Resource persons included 4 faculties of Yenepoya Medical College and 6 National & International faculties in Regional Anaesthesia from Bangalore & Coimbatore.
The programme was well appreciated and placed on high esteem by all attending delegates with special accolades to the venue and the overall arrangements. They suggested to continue the workshop for the coming years. The success of this workshop can be attributed to the contribution of all postgraduates and Faculty, department of Anaesthesiology, YMC and ISA City Branch, Mangaluru.
